Adventures in Authenticity: Carving My Own Way To Creative Freelancing
Welcome to this inaugural post for Adventures in Authenticity!
Come along with me as I endeavor to find my own path and wet my feet in the world of freelance multimedia design.
I am a bit of a rebel. I am an extremely creative and open minded individual who values authenticity and diversity. I am a voracious reader and storyteller who needs continuous learning and to utilize creativity in her work environment.
I am a life-long student. I will actively seek out opportunities to learn and gain experience either on my own or through those courses I can find or afford at the time. I tend to use the tools available to teach myself subjects such as html, graphic design and video production software.
Currently I am endeavoring to break into the world of multimedia design, freelancing and portfolio development. As of yet I do not have the same level of education in graphic design as many other freelancers do. (I do have education in video production) In some ways yes this hinders me to some degree from getting jobs and clients in other ways it gives me an advantage. Because I have not acquired the appropriate degrees and certificates I am able to offer my services at a fraction of the cost to those who would not normally be able to afford a fully educated designers fees.
